BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Tusculum University men’s golf team finished third at the 2026 King Invitational. The Pioneers posted a two-day, 36-hole score of 565 including Tuesday’s final round 282.
Host King rallied with a final day 275 to post 551 to win by four shots over runner-up Shorter (555).
Tusculum had three players finish in the top-10 including the duo of Ed Linley and Harrison Price who each posted a two-under par scores of 138 to finish tied for sixth.
Linley carded the second lowest round of the day with his four-under par 66. He recorded four consecutive birdies on holes 4-7. He followed with bogeys on the ninth and 10th holes before bouncing back with birdies on the 14th and 16th holes. His 66 is a career-low for the TU sophomore and tied for the fifth-lowest round in program history. His 36-hole total of 138 is also a career-best as he moved up 18 spots on the leaderboard after shooting 72 on Monday.
Price tallied back-to-back rounds of 69 for his 138 (-2) to earn his third career top-10 finish. He carded a pair of birdies on his outward nine for a two-under par 33. He posted a pair of bogeys on his second nine, but finished with a birdie on the final hole of the tournament to card his second straight red number of the week.
Max Winnersjo tied for 10th place with a one-under par score of 139 including a final round 71. Buster O’Callaghan tied for 49th place with 74-76=150, while Hayden Shrewsbury shot 79-79=158 to tie for 58th.
King’s Deagan Erfmann led the rally for the Tornado as he posted a five-under par 65 to finish with 132 (-8) and win by three shots over teammate Tibo Van De Neste (65-70=135).
On the team leaderboard, Bluefield State B finished fourth with 567, while North Greenville and King B tied for fifth place honors at 575. Belmont Abbey and Lees-McRae tied for seventh with 576, followed by Bluefield State (579), UVA Wise (581), Mars Hill (584) and Virginia State (604).
The Pioneers’ 565 score is tied for the 11th lowest 36-hole score in school history.
Tusculum returns to action next week (Oct. 5-6) as they travel to Toccoa, Georgia for the Currahee Collegiate Invitational.
