AUSTIN, Texas — Three Tusculum University women’s basketball student-athletes have been named to the NCAA Division II Academic All-District® 3 first team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Earning Academic All-District® honors for the Pioneers are: Abbi Douglas, Jenna Kallenberg and Carleigh Wilson.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

District 3 is comprised of colleges and universities representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, must be at least a sophomore and played in 90 percent of their team’s games or start in 67 percent of their contests.

Douglas, a graduate student from Ashland, Tennessee, has a perfect 4.00 GPA while working on her Master’s degree in sports administration. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cumberland University where she was an honors student and finished with a 3.84 GPA. She is a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List and President’s List.

Douglas started in all 28 games at guard where she averaged 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the team in assists where she dished out 3.25 helpers per contest (6th in SAC). She also paced Tusculum’s defensive efforts averaging 2.14 steals per game (5th in SAC). She averaged 26.3 minutes per game and shot 42 percent from the floor and 72.5 percent from the free throw line.

Kallenberg, a graduate student from Knoxville, Tennessee has a 3.80 GPA while working on her Master’s degree in business administration. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. She is also a three-time recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award.

She was named to the CSC Academic All-District first team last season. She started in all 28 games this year where she averaged 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She also totaled 166 points, 97 rebounds, 33 assists, 16 steals and three blocked shots. She averaged 1.54 three-point field goals made per game which were tops on the team.

During her 87-game career at Tusculum, Kallenberg totaled 97 three-pointers made. Prior to Tusculum, she played one season at Western Kentucky University where she earned the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and was a President’s List selection in her lone season with the Lady Toppers.

Wilson, a junior guard from Nashville, Tennessee, has a 3.82 GPA while majoring in sports science. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. Last year, she was the recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Wilson played in 27 contests this past season with 18 starts. She averaged 7.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest. She led the team with her 38 blocked shots, averaging 1.41 rejections per game (6th in SAC). She was second on the team averaging 1.81 steals per game (10th in SAC).

During her 63 games as a Pioneers, she has scored 426 points while also totaling 257 rebounds, 117 assists, 75 steals and 60 blocked shots. She accounted for 61 made three-pointers during her career including 40 treys this season which were second on the club.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in April.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-2025 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
