Johnson City 12 – Greeneville 11
Greeneville wrapped up the 2025 regular season with a visit to Johnson City, and things looked promising early for the Flyboys. They plated 10 runs over the first four innings and held an 11-6 lead heading into the sixth. From there, however, it was all Doughboys, as Johnson City mounted a comeback with six unanswered runs, capped by a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to secure a 12-11 win.
The Flyboys tallied 11 hits on the night but left nine runners stranded, going just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Cameron Kim led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance, including a home run and two RBIs. Ezra McNaughton went 2-for-3 and drove in three, pushing his league-leading RBI total to 46. Reid Haire and Peyton Miller each chipped in with a pair of singles, while Mycah Jordan launched his fourth home run of the season.
Christian Bonilla took the loss in relief, allowing three runs on five hits over just over an inning of work.
Greeneville, last year’s Appalachian League runner-up, now turns its attention to the playoffs. The Flyboys travel to Kingsport on Thursday to take on the Axmen, who won four of the six regular-season meetings between the two teams. First pitch is set for 7:00 PM at Hunter Wright Stadium.
