KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee moved up two spots to No. 23 in the Nov. 11 College Football Playoff rankings released by the committee Tuesday night.
The Volunteers (6-3, 3-3 SEC) have dropped three contests to current top 11 teams — at No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia (overtime) and No. 11 Oklahoma. Tennessee is one of eight SEC teams in the rankings and will take on current No. 14 Vanderbilt in the regular season finale on Nov. 29.
The Vols have now appeared in 20 consecutive CFP rankings dating back to Nov. 2022. They host New Mexico State for Homecoming and the annual “Salute To Service” game at 4:15 p.m. ET Saturday in Neyland Stadium, which is sold out for the 26th straight contest.
