Alexandria, AL 11, Greeneville 3
Playing in a tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama the Greeneville softball team fell to Alexandria, Alabama 11-3 on Wednesday.
The Lady Greene Devils managed six hits in the loss. Brynlee Jones was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kaley Garland was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Baylee Ramsey had a double and Jamie Jackson had a single.
In the circle Jones went four innings with five strikeouts, one walk and 12 hits allowed. Jackson threw one inning with two strikeouts, one walk and three hits allowed.
BASBEALL
West Greene 8, South Greene 0
The West Greene baseball team picked up an 8-0 win over South Greene on Wednesday afternoon.
On the mound Jayden Cox was dominant for the Buffaloes as he struck out 12, walked four and allowed one hit in six innings of work. Eli Brown threw the final inning and struck out two of the three batters he faced.
On offense the Buffaloes managed five hits. Jhonen Bath and Cox each had a double while. Ethan Carpenter was 1-for-1 and reached base four times while stealing three bases.
For South Greene T Ricker earned the Rebels lone hit.
Colton Fillers took the loss. In four innings he struck out one, walked two, and allowed four hits.
Greeneville 4, Providence Academy 3
The Greeneville baseball team topped Providence Academy 4-3 on Wednesday night.
The decisive run came in the sixth inning. Kaine Ricker got things going with a triple and Colton Smith scored him on a sacrifice bunt.
On the mound Greeneville Sam Thompson scattered six hits over five innings with two strike outs and one walk. Silar Lewis threw 1.1 innings to earn the win, and Will Harmon earned the final two outs.
Harmon, Tegan Begley, Maddox Bishop, Jacob Ward and Jaxon Winter all had singles for the Greene Devils.
