Chuckey-Doak 19, Hampton 7
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team took down Hampton on Saturday 19-7 on Saturday afternoon.
The Black Knights produced 17 hits in the win. Benjamin Palazzo 2-for-4 with two home runs, six RBIs and three runs scored. Cooper Seay went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Randall Sauceman was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kiptyn Ball was 2-for-2 with a double and four runs scored. Shane Cook was 2-for-4 with a double.
Ball earned the win on the mound. In four innings he struck out two, walked one and allowed 11 hits. Gavin Murray threw one inning with two strikeouts, no walks and no hits allowed.
Greeneville 5, Bearden 4
The Greeneville baseball won 5-4 at Bearden on Saturday afternoon.
At the plate Kaine Ricker went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Maddox Bishop, Tegan Begley, Grayson Crosby, and Jaxon Winter all had singles.
Silar Lewis earned the win in relief. In three innings he struck out two, walked none and allowed five hits.
Sam Thompson threw four innings with two strike outs, three walks and five hits allowed.
Heritage 8, Greeneville 1
The Greeneville baseball team’s 12-game win streak came to an end on Saturday in an 8-1 loss to Heritage.
The Greene Devils were held to two hits. Maddox Bishop had a double and Jack Lister had a single.
Randen Fillers took the loss on the mound. In 5.1 innings he struck out six, walked one and allowed six hits.
TRACK AND FIELD
Greeneville’s Trey Bailey ran in the Creekview High School Distance Showcase in Canton, Georgia on Friday night against some of the best distance runners in the Southeast.
He ran a career best 9:03.12 in the 3,200 meters which also broke his own Greeneville High School record in the event. It is the second fastest time run by a Tennessee runner in the event this year and a top 50 time in the nation this season.
