Johnson City Doughboys 13 – Greeneville Flyboys 12
Greeneville and Johnson City opened a three-game series Tuesday night at Eastman Credit Union Ballpark, combining for 25 runs on 26 hits before the Doughboys held on for a 13-12 victory.
Matthew Cash paced the Flyboys’ offense, driving in five runs with a home run and three singles. Matthew Kerrigan added three singles, while Olin Ward contributed a home run and three RBIs.
Hudson Johnson was charged with the loss, allowing three runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out two and walked four.
Greeneville, now 4-6 on the season, travels to Johnson City on Wednesday for game two of the series before returning home Thursday night to wrap up the set on Military Appreciation Night. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 7 p.m.
