Both the West Greene Buffaloes and North Greene Huskies would advance their baseball seasons into the Regional Tournament, but both would come up just short of winning District titles on Saturday.
West Greene would be in tight matchups throughout their District Tournament including walk-off wins over South Greene and Chuckey-Doak before falling in the District Championship game to Johnson County 3-2. The “Baseball Buffs” advance into the 2A Regional Tournament where they’ll begin play on Friday afternoon.
North Greene would fall to University High 6-2 after eliminating Hampton in a close 8-7 win on Saturday. North Greene finishes runner-up in the District 1-1A Tournament and will advance into the Regional Tournament set to begin on Friday.
