The Greeneville High School baseball team would run through the District Tournament with wins over Claiborne (22-1), Grainger (12-4), and capped it with an 8-1 victory over Cherokee on Saturday to secure the District 2-3A title.
Colton Richards was named District Tournament MVP while teammates Corbin Cannon, Kobe Mundy, Maddox Bishop, and Parker Shipley were each named to the All-Tournament Team for their play.
As for their Regional Tournament opponent, Greeneville now awaits the TSSAA decision over a fight that occurred during the Elizabethton-Unicoi County game over the weekend. The ruling should be made by 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
Greeneville is scheduled to begin Region Tournament play on Friday.
