Wednesday afternoon at The Alley, the bowling teams from Chuckey Doak/South Greene and Dobyns Bennett looked to gain the upper hand in the conference standings. Both teams hit their strides early, but it was the Rebel/Knights and Lady Indians who remained undefeated on the year. The Rebel Knights took the 21.5 – 5.5 decision, while the Lady Indians brought home the 20 – 7 win.
In the first game, the Rebel Knights jumped out to the 6-2 lead behind Peyton Murphy’s 193 and Evan Stills’ 181. Ryan Barrett rolled a 204 for the Indians, while Landon Dunlap finished with a 192.
Gavin Murray set the tone in game two by stringing together the front eight, before leaving a 10-pin (which he converted) ending with a 278 to help propel the Rebel Knights to the 12-4 advantage. Murphy and Stills continued the hot hand with a 199 and 185, respectively. The Indians were paced by Dunlap’s 212 and Maddox Ashcough’s 198.
Both teams rolled a 180 in the first Baker game, while the Rebel/Knights closed out the match with a 233-201 decision in the final Baker game. Chuckey Doak/South Greene sees their overall record improve to 7-0, while DB falls to 3-1.
On the girls’ side, Riley Grace Bridges caught fire early with a 211, propelling the Lady Indians to the 6-2 lead. Sadie Roberts finished with a 171 for the Rebel/Knights, followed by Ava Pincombe’s 157.
The second game saw Destiny Dishner finish with a 171 and Bridges a 170 to help push the Lady Indians out to a commanding 12-4 advantage. Sara Wirt topped out with a 173 for the Lady Rebell/Knights, followed closely by Stephanie Thornburg’s 151 and Pincombe’s 150.
The Lady Rebel/Knights took a close 132-123 win in the first Baker game, while the Lady Indians responded with an emphatic 200-123 decision to close out the match. Dobyns Bennett goes to 4-0 on the year, while Chuckey Doak/South Greene falls to 4-3.
