Greeneville High left no doubt in the boy’s race at the 2025 Hayfield Hustle, packing four runners into the top five on the way to a commanding win to open the season.
Led by Trey Bailey who ran the course at Holston Home in 17:24, the Greene Devils posted a team score of just 25 points, well clear of runner-up Morristown-East’s 49.
The depth showed for Greeneville with Grant Tunnell, Isaac Gibson, and Jules Richard all inside the top four.
Powered by Benjamin Merrill’s fifth-place finish, Chuckey-Doak finished with a strong third place showing on the boys’ side. With times of 22:15 and 22:19 by Logan Malone and Collin Lovins, the Black Knights ended up placing three runners inside the top 15.
West Greene also saw promise in the boys’ race, where freshman Julian Greenlee cracked the top 10 with a 21:18 finish.

West Greene made noise in the women’s race, though team points proved hard to come by. Freshman Clair Crews led the Lady Buffaloes with a 30:20 effort for 9th overall, while Sarai Galarza and Brooklyn Hyatt provided depth.
Towering Oaks Christian claimed the team win behind Ella Harrison’s 24:43, which was good enough the individual title.
For Greeneville’s girls Ashlynn Ranly (2nd, 25:59) and Susan Mulhollen (4th, 27:12) provided bright spots, though the Devils lacked the numbers on Tuesday to post a team score.
