Week three of the high school football season will begin a day early with a Thursday county showdown between two undefeated Greene County rivals.
The Gateway Ford/Nissan Greene County Game of the Week will feature the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights (2-0) in Mosheim to play the West Greene Buffaloes (2-0). Both teams are led by new coaches this season, but both are off to great starts winning tough matchups in the first two weeks of the season.
Chuckey-Doak picked up wins over Unaka and Grainger to begin the season while West Greene defeated North Greene and Cloudland in weeks one and two respectively.
Coverage of the Chuckey-Doak against West Greene on Thursday will begin with pregame coverage at 7:00 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on 103.1 FM WIKQ. Also on the Greene County schedule tonight, South Greene will be at home to face Cumberland Gap with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
Greeneville will have their home opener on Friday against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. on WGRV and WIKQ.
