Hermansson Records Top-10 Finish At Bearcat Classic

NINETY-SIX, S.C. — Tusculum senior Liam Hermansson finished two-under par for the tournament and posted a top-10 finish at the 2025 Bearcat Classic. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was hosted by Lander University and held at The Patriot Club at Grand Harbor.

Hermansson recorded scores of 71-72-71=214 to tie for 10th place in the field of some of the top golfers in NCAA Division II.

The Pioneers finished with a 54-hole aggregate score of 877 to finish seventh in the 19-team tournament.

Wingate won the team title as the Bulldogs finished with a 17-under par score of 847 to win by four shots over late-charging Grand Valley State (851). USC Aiken was third with 858, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne (864), Lander (873), Flagler (874), Tusculum (877), Belmont Abbey (885), Ashland (885) and Erskine (890) to round out the top-10.

Georgia College was 11th with 895, followed by Mount Olive (898), Anderson (899), Young Harris (903), Emmanuel (905), King (909), Limestone (910), Newberry (912) and North Greenville (956).

Hermansson wrapped up his second round by shooting an even par 72. He closed out Tuesday’s action with a one-under par score of 71, which included eight birdies, seven bogeys and three pars.

TU’s Blake Williams tied for 17th place with 71-70-75=216, Marinus Jeebe placed 47th with 75-71-78=224, Hunter Hartman was 50th with 77-71-77=225 and Harrison Price carded 77-85-76=238 (T96).

Wingate’s Jordan Hyland claimed medalist laurels with his 11-under par score of 69-67-69=205 to win by two shots over runner-up Aaron Lin of Lander (72-69-66=207, -9).

The Pioneers return to action Mar. 24-25 as they compete at the Tennessee River Rumble in Lenoir City, Tennessee. It will be the final tune-up before next month’s South Atlantic Conference Championship (Apr. 13-15) in Greenville, South Carolina.
