Week eleven features some of the biggest high school football games in the region as prepared by the TSSAA to create a competitive and entertaining balance heading into the postseason. Week eleven was also split into two days as many games were played on Thursday including North Greene and Chuckey-Doak both in region action.
North Greene would secure their fourth win of the season by defeating Cosby 21-7. With the win, North Greene will secure the No. 3 seed in the playoffs where they’ll travel to Oliver Springs next week. With their fourth win, North Greene finishes the regular season with their best win-loss total since the 2015 season.
In Lower Afton, Chuckey-Doak would play one of the top teams in the state as Gatlinburg-Pittman would come to town and show why they’re a state title threat. The Highlanders would knock off the Black Knights 55-15 to lock up the top seed in the TSSAA postseason set to begin next week. Although the season didn’t end the way the Black Knights intended, Chuckey-Doak will still earn a playoff birth and will travel to Alcoa in the first round of the TSSAA Playoffs on Friday of next week.
