Students from South Greene, Chuckey Doak, and Greeneville competed in the East Sectional portion of the Pentathlon looking to punch their ticket to the state meet.
South Greene’s Ava Clark came home, not only with a qualifying spot in the A meet, but her 2nd place finish also put her name in the Rebel record books, as the leader. Her teammates, Natalie Freise and Alexa Gabbard, finished 4th and 5th and will await to see if they are awarded an at-large invitation. Chuckey Doak’s Niome Morell competed but her finish was not available.
Greeneville’s Jacey Goodwin brought home a 9th place finish in the AA division.
With one day remaining in the Decathlon events, the A division is very close, with positions 2 through 8 only being separated by 100 points. South Greene’s Dion Blair is currently in 4th, while Zackriah Duncan sits 8th and Charlie Lane 9th.
Greeneville’s Darian Humphreys is currently in 6th place in the AA division.
