North Greene 30, Parrotsville 0
After weathering an early storm, literally, North Greene Middle dominated and cruised to a 30-0 road win in Parrotsville on Thursday night.
The Huskies only allowed one first down all evening as the defense pitched a near-perfect shutout. Liam Spaulding led the defense by stuffing the stat sheet with two solo tackles, two assists, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery. Noah Gray forced a fumble and Glenn Villarreal led the defense with four solo tackles. Deshawn McCraw had three solo tackles, one assist, and two fumble recoveries.
On offense Deshawn McCraw led the attack with five rushes for 34 yards and two touchdowns. Archer Tippins led them in yards with 58 rushing on 7 attempts. Ryder Verran crossed the chalk for a rushing touchdown and added 22 rushing yards total.
Easton Head was 2-for-4 passing and connected with Archer Tippins for his lone passing touchdown.
The Huskies host Cosby next Thursday at 6 pm.
Greeneville 24, Norris 28
The Greeneville Middle football team lost a heartbreaker on Thursday night and dropped a tough road game to Norris 28-24.
Greeneville fell behind 14-0 at the half and scored 24-straight points to take the lead, but allowed one huge play to decide the game. Norris tossed up a prayer on 4th down with 20 seconds left and it was answered with a late Hail Mary to steal the game from Greeneville.
Justin Fezell had a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 115 yards. Dante Webb was responsible for the other touchdown. Christian Meyers added 75 yards rushing.
Ben Hansel led Greeneville’s defense with 10 tackles.
Greeneville hosts Indian Trail next Thursday at 7 pm.
West Greene Postponed
The Buffaloes originally scheduled contest with Sullivan Central on Thursday has been moved to Tuesday, September 9th due to weather.
