The South Greene boys basketball team picked up two wins in the District 1-2A Tournament last week and the long-range shooting of sophomore Jameson White was a big reason why. For that he has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the week.
The Rebels got the district tournament started on Thursday with a 65-34 win over Happy Valley in the quarterfinals. In that win White rained down seven three-pointers and scored 23 points. Then in the tournament semifinals on Friday South Greene handed West Greene a 58-51 loss. Against the Buffaloes White connected from deep six times and scored 20 points.
