The South Greene girls basketball team powered through a busy week to pick up two crucial District 1-2A wins that clinched the top seed going into the district tournament. In the four-game week Kortnei Bailey filled up the bucket, and because of that she has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
Bailey led the Lady Rebels in scoring in all four contests, starting with an 18 point night in a 49-29 win over West Greene. A 12-point performance in a 60-46 loss to North Greene followed. Against David Crockett Bailey poured in 28 points, with 14 of them coming in the final five minutes of a 62-47 win. One day later the Lady Rebels’ senior scored 28 points again in a 65-60 win over Chuckey-Doak.
