South Greene 12, Hampton 2
The South Greene softball stayed perfect in District 1-2A play on Tuesday with a 12-2 win over Hampton.
The Lady Rebels used 17 hits to score their 12 runs. Madison Hensley was 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored from her leadoff spot. From the nine hole Hailey Williamson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored.
Neveah Davis had two doubles, and Paisley Brobeck a double and five RBIs.
Kortnei Bailey earned the win in the circle. In five innings she struck out six, walked five and allowed five hits.
North Greene 13, Unaka 0
North Greene completed an unbeaten run through District 1-1A play on Tuesday by winning 13-0 at Unaka.
Hannah Brooks was nearly untouchable from the circle as she struck out 12, walked none and allowed two hits in six innings.
At the plate the Lady Huskies earned 14 hits. Matti Phillips was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Josie Graham went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Loren Blevins had a home run and two RBIs.
Brooks, Heidi Trentham and Charlie Turnmire all had two hits.
West Greene 4, University High 1
The West Greene softball team celebrated senior night on Tuesday with a 4-1 win over University High.
Morgan Brown from the circle and the defense behind her controlled the game. Brown threw seven innings with four strikeouts, four walks and four hits allowed.
At the plate the Lady Buffaloes earned 11 hits. Aubree Everett was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Brown went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Hayley Arnold went 2-for-4 with a double, and an RBI. Addison Peters had a double.
TENNIS
The Greeneville duo of Emma Sauceman and Brylee Catron claimed the District 2-AA Girls Doubles championship on Tuesday in Morristown.
In the semifinals they defeated Huskey and Smelcer of Sevier County 6-0, 6-1. Then in the finals the Lady Devils beat Koch and Nave of Sevier County 6-1, 6-4.
Koch and Nave advanced to the finals by defeating Greeneville’s Genna Renner and Grace Lampe 6-3, 6-2 in the other semifinal contest.
