South Greene 55, Unicoi County 52 (OT)
The South Greene girls basketball team got District 1-2A play started on Tuesday night by taking down Unicoi County 55-52 in overtime.
Kortnei Bailey led the offensive effort with 20 points, Paisley Brobeck scored 12 points including three crucial free throws in the final 20 seconds, and Samantha Birdwell scored 10 points for the Lady Rebels.
Brooklyn Sparks led Unicoi with 16 points.

Maryville 55, Greeneville 42
The Greeneville girls basketball team fell to Maryville 55-42 on Tuesday night.
Maria Lyde had 16 points and five rebounds for the Lady Greene Devils. Brylee Tullock had 13 points, six assists and five rebounds.
For Maryville Zoee Harrison scored 22 points and Maddy Hall had 16.

West Greene 53, Chuckey-Doak 29
The West Greene girls started District 1-2A play with a big win over Chuckey-Doak on Tuesday night, collecting a 53-29 victory.
The Lady Buffaloes were led in scoring by Payton Norton with 13 points while Emily Justis and Joie Shipley each had 12 points. Jayden Myers scored 13 points for the Lady Black Knights.

BOYS
Unicoi County 58, South Greene 42
The South Greene boys basketball team could not get going on the offensive end of the floor on Tuesday night and fell to Unicoi County 58-42.
The Rebels did not put a player in double figures but Lucas Couch scored nine points and Charlie Lane had eight points.
For Unicoi County Jackson Simmons scored 25 points while A.J. Thomas had 20.
West Greene 46, Chuckey-Doak 42
Chuckey-Doak closed the gap late but West Greene was able to hold on for a 46-42 win on Tuesday night in its District 1-2A opener.
Tytus Shelton led the Buffaloes with 16 points while Luke Heck put in 14 and Elijah Williams finished with 10 points. Dom Atchison led Chuckey-Doak with 14 points.
