Greeneville High School’s standout goalie, Tanner Myers, is set to take his talents to the next level, signing to continue his education and soccer career with USC Sumter.
Myers, a pivotal player for the Greene Devils, concluded his senior year with an impressive 189 saves. His stellar performance earned him All District and All Region honors for the second consecutive year, along with prestigious TSSCA and TSWA All State honors this season.
A two-year starter for Greeneville, Myers played a crucial role in guiding the Greene Devils to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the state tournament. One of the most memorable moments of his high school career occurred during the State Quarterfinal game against Alcoa. In the dramatic 10th round of the penalty kick shootout, Myers made a crucial save and then stepped up to convert his kick, securing the Greene Devils’ spot in the semifinal.
Myers’ high school career statistics are a testament to his skill and dedication. He finished with a remarkable 1.09 goals against average, amassing 357 saves and achieving 24 clean sheets.
As he prepares to join USC Sumter, Myers leaves behind a legacy of excellence and resilience. The Greeneville community and his teammates wish him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter in his soccer career.
