Three members of the Tusculum University men’s soccer team have been named preseason Players to Watch as part of the release of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference preseason coaches poll.
Earning preseason honors are sophomore midfielder Clarenns Sainrimat along with freshman forward Filippo Canaletich and freshman midfielder Hugo Le Floch.
Sainrimat was the team Most Valuable Player during the 2024 season after leading the Pioneers with four goals and three assists for 11 points in 13 matches. Sainrimat scored his first career goal against national champion Lynn, and had two goals and an assist against Emory & Henry. The Marcoussis, France native was second on the team with 17 shot attempts, and led the squad with 13 shots on goal.
Canaletich hails from Cordoba, Argentina and Le Floch is a native of Saint Nazaire, France and will look to be key contributors for the Pioneers in their collegiate debuts.
Lenoir-Rhyne had the top spot in the SAC preseason poll, earning 84 points and two first-place votes. Wingate had three first-place votes and a total of 82 points, followed by Coker with three first-place votes and 80 points. Mars Hill had the other first-place vote and was fourth with 71 points.
From fifth, the rest of the poll consists of Lincoln Memorial (62 points), Anderson (57), Emory & Henry (53), Catawba (52), Carson-Newman (36), Tusculum (16) and Newberry (12).
The Pioneers will make a road swing to Florida with a pair of matches to open the 2025 season, playing at Lynn on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. and at Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. Tusculum plays its home and SAC opener against Wingate on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
