After battling Mother Nature the last few days, the Greeneville Flyboys were finally able to get back onto the field and complete the sweep of the Tri-State Coal Cats on Sunday.
Game 1 saw the Flyboys explode for 6 runs in the top of the 9th to take the completion of Friday’s suspended game 7-1. Grant Hunter had the big blow for the Flyboys driving in two runs with a double. Dylan Jackson and Cameron Kim each had a double for the Flyboys. Drew Mattox picked up the win in relief.
Game 2 saw the Flyboys break open the 7-inning game with 7 runs in the top of the 6th and pull away to the 9-4 win. Layne Akers paced the 14-hit attack going 4 for 4 which included 3 singles, a double, and two RBI’s. Jace Patton contributed a triple and double, while Tyler Inge and AJ Diaz each collected two singles. Evan Kay picked up the win on the mound with two innings of relief work.
