ROCK HILL, S.C. — Tusculum University senior defender Marja Enste has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19, the SAC office announced Tuesday.
Enste scored the winning goal with 28.9 seconds left on a free kick in Tusculum’s 1-0 win over Emory & Henry on Wednesday. The goal was her second of the season and her first career goal at Pioneer Field, coming in her 30th home match as a Pioneer. Earlier in the match, the Aachen, Germany native cleared a potential Wasps goal away from the line to keep the match scoreless.
Tusculum went 2-0 last week, including a 3-0 victory over Bluefield State on Sunday, and is currently in fifth place in the SAC with a 3-2-1 league record and 6-5-2 overall. The Pioneers host Coker on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 12:30 p.m. on Senior Day at Pioneer Field.
