GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Tusculum sophomore Delfin Filiz carded a season-low 73 and has the first round lead at the 27th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is hosted by Tusculum and being held at Link Hills Country Club.
The Pioneers shot a team aggregate score of 307 and share the first day lead with Emmanuel. Young Harris is third with 319, while Arkansas-Monticello and Christian Brothers each finished with 320 and are tied for fourth place. Trevecca Nazarene is sixth with 326, followed by King (330), UVA Wise (340) and Shorter (309).
Filiz shot an even-par 36 on her outward nine and followed with a two-over par 37 on the back nine. She has a one-shot lead over Emmanuel’s Valeria Lopez de Haro who posted 74.
Four players are tied for third place with 75 including TU junior Reagan Padilla as she recorded four birdies on her round including back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. Also in with 75 are Carla Kay Hickam (Christian Brothers), Mara Martinez (Emmanuel) and Tori Milton (Arkansas-Monticello).
Tusculum’s Annabelle Mozingo shot a steady 79 and is tied for 14th place. Greeneville freshman Maylei Hildenbrand posted an 80 and is tied for 19th. Senior Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen rounded out the team scoring with 87 and is in 39th place. Greeneville sophomore Lindy Carter, playing as an individual competitor, shot 97 and is in 50th place.
The final round will be held on Tuesday beginning with an 11 a.m. shotgun start on the par-71, 5,843-yard layout.
