Athletes from Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia gathered at the Meadowview Convention Center in Kingsport for the 2nd Annual Night of Champions, sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport and Ballad Health.
The event was emceed by Kenny Hawkins, WJHL Sports Director, who kicked off the night by introducing Desean Bishop, a University of Tennessee football player who recently completed his redshirt freshman season. Bishop spoke with students about his high school career at Karns and addressed several college-related topics, including recruiting and the transfer portal.
Greeneville High School was well represented, with several teams and athletes named as finalists—and some taking home top honors.
For the second consecutive year, Carson Quillen was named Male Athlete of the Year. Quillen has piled up an impressive list of accolades throughout his time as a Greene Devil, including being a Mr. Football finalist, TSSAA State Baseball Tournament MVP, and Player of the Year for both WCYB and WJHL. Most recently, he was honored as the Class 3A Mr. Baseball. In his final year as a two-sport athlete, he recorded 2,383 all-purpose yards, 33 touchdowns, and helped lead his team to a second class 3A state baseball title.

Kyla Jobe earned the title of Female Athlete of the Year after an outstanding four-year career as a three-sport standout for the Lady Greene Devils. A four-year starter, Jobe broke numerous school records, including most career stolen bases and most runs in a single season. She is a two-time District Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Best of Preps Player of the Year, and has received multiple All-State honors.

The Greeneville High Boys’ Basketball Team was named Male Team of the Year following another successful season that saw them return to the TSSAA state tournament semifinals. The team captured the District Title, Region Title, and defeated Carter in the State Sectionals to secure their place in the tournament. They continue to set the standard for Class 3A basketball in East Tennessee.
