Tusculum University has named Connor Keating as the Director of Creative Media and Athletic Marketing announced TU associate athletic director of communications Dom Donnelly.

Keating will coordinate all aspects of video and social media content for the University’s athletic department and its 23 intercollegiate sports. He will also assist with coordination of Tusculum’s athletic marketing, branding and promotions.

The Charleston, South Carolina native joins the Tusculum family after serving as the video production intern with the Charleston RiverDogs this past summer. While with the RiverDogs, the Single-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, he created custom video content for the organization which included hype videos, in-game production, video highlights and fan engagement.

Keating worked with the MiLB Network video production with the team where he assisted with in-game elements which included replay, board switcher, video board, audio and camera angles.

He also created custom content for sponsorship execution including recap videos of sponsor events and community outreach events.

“We are excited to have Connor on board with us at Tusculum,” said Donnelly. “The addition of Connor to the athletic communications team is a win for our department and our student-athletes. He brings a creative skill set with him including his most recent experience with the Charleston RiverDogs. I believe he will add positively to our student-athlete experience and will be a boost for our athletic department overall.”

In Summer 2022, he was an intern with the Charleston Radio Group for WCKN-92.5 FM where he acted as a third co-host while researching and developing content.

From 2021-2022, he serves as an athletics assistant at Boston University where he assisted with the creation of social media content to promote athletic events. He acted as a producer liaison and also served as a red hat / stage manager for athletic events including BU’s record breaking women’s basketball program that season.

“My goal at Tusculum University is to increase our social media presence, not just with photos but with videos that will welcome a new age of fan and athlete engagement,” said Keating. “I want to create a new wave of department and athlete coordination to give our student-athletes the recognition they deserve with ideas of their own through creative video.”

From 2018-2021, he served as president of the Terrior Sports Network while a student-athlete at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. He produced live streams for athletic events, created graphics for social media and in-game production and created highlight and reel tapes for player and social distribution.

He lettered on the St. Francis men’s golf team from 2017-2021 where he was a member of the Dean’s List, Duns Scotus Honor Society and was an Academic National Champion.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from St. Francis in 2021. He completed his Master of Science in Journalism from Boston University in 2022.
