PUEBLO, Colo. — Tusculum University advanced to finals in two events on the opening day of the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship, being held at the Thunderbowl on the campus of Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Junior Jahzara Hart qualified for Saturday’s final in the women’s 100-meter dash, while the women’s 4×100 relay of juniors Kiera Taylor, Shanice Cox, Theresa Green-White and Hart also moved on to the final on Saturday night.
Running in the third and final heat of prelims, Hart took advantage of a 4.5 meters per second tailwind to run a school-record time of 11.19 seconds. The Raleigh, North Carolina native was fourth in the standings and will run in the finals on Saturday at 8:40 p.m. Eastern.
The 4×100 relay placed third overall with a time of 44.31 seconds, breaking the previous school record of 44.89 seconds set at the Aggie Invitational on April 19. The quartet will race for the championship on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.
Junior Isaiah Olson also competed for the Pioneers in the men’s 100 meters and broke his own school record with a time of 10.21 seconds, but finished 14th overall in the field of 22 runners.
Tusculum will be back on the track Friday evening as Hart will run in the 200 meters prelims at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, and Green-White competes in trials in the 100-meter hurdles at 8:35 p.m. Eastern.
