UNIVERSITY HIGH 11, NORTH GREENE 1
The North Greene Huskies were outmatched by University High and lost the District 1-1A Championship 11-1 on Sunday afternoon.
UH scored 11 runs on 9 hits and were aided by 3 errors and 6 walks from North Greene. The Huskies only scored one run on 4 hits.
Jake Duffy had the only two-hit game and went 2-for-3 with a run, Gaby went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Aidan Halley went 1-for-2.
Both teams advanced to the Region 1-1A Tournament and will compete with Washburn and Cosby. Game times, opponents, and dates are still TBD. Games will be played at Milligan University.
WEST GREENE 13, JOHNSON COUNTY 1
The West Greene baseball team got Sunday started with a 13-1 win over Johnson County to advance the District 1-2A Tournament Championship Game.
Conner Campbell had a huge day at the plate for West Greene, going 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Jhonen Bath was 2-for-2 with and RBI and two runs scored. Ethan Carpenter and Brandon Hunter both had doubles and Jayden Cox had two hits.
On the mound Braden McCamey struck out two, walked on and allowed four hits in four innings.
CHUKCEY-DOAK 6, WEST GREENE 2
Chuckey-Doak took down West Greene 6-2 on Sunday night to claim the District 1-2A Championship game.
Both teams ae moving on the the Region 1-2A Tournament which will start on Friday at Chuckey-Doak.
The Black Knights only earned five hits in the win, but they were helped by four West Greene errors. Lynkin Cutshaw had a double, and James Seidl had two RBIs. Randall Sauceman, Gavin Cum and Ben Palazzo had singles.
For West Greene Braden McCamey had a solo home run, and Jhonen Bath had two hits.
On the mound Cutshaw threw the first three innings for Chuckey-Doak. He struck out four, walked seven and allowed two hits. Crum threw four innings with two strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed.
Jayden Cox threw five innings for West Greene. He struck out four, walked four and allowed three hits.
