Six Earn CSC Men’s At-Large Academic All-District honors

AUSTIN, Texas — Six Tusculum University student-athletes have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s At-Large Academic All-District® 3 first team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Earning Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large honors for Tusculum are the golfing trio of Liam Hermansson, Marinus Jeebe and Blake Williams; volleyball standouts Morgan Makovec and Taylor West; and lacrosse midfielder Blake Harrison.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances for the following NCAA sports: fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Each school is limited to nominate up to six (6) total student-athletes from these respective sports.

District 3 is comprised of colleges and universities representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas. Members of the Independent Volleyball Association are also represented. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (undergraduate and graduate) or higher and must be at least a sophomore. Nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution’s games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution’s contests. Golfers are also eligible if they compete at the conference championship.

Hermansson, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, graduated in May with cum laude honors while earning his Bachelor of Science degree. He finished with a 3.77 GPA while majoring in business entrepreneurship. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Tusculum Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. He is a two-time recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

Hermansson finished fourth on the roster with his 75.14 stroke average and he recorded a top-10 finish at the Bearcat Classic where he logged a two-under par score of 71-72-71=214. He finished 24th at the SAC Championship and also recorded a pair of top-50 finishes at the Bill Crabtree Invitational and the Oldfield Classic. He finished his career with a 75.76 scoring average which included seven top-20 performances including four times in the top-10 and a pair of top-five finishes. He captured medalist honors at the 2023 Bob Dibble Intercollegiate where he posted three-round score of 205 which is a tournament record and the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history.

Jeebe, a sophomore from Forstinning, Germany, logged a 3.92 GPA while majoring in business administration and management. He is a member of the President’s List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List, Dean’s List, SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Jeebe played in 14 competitive rounds where he posted a 76.86 stroke average which included an appearance the SAC Championship. During his Tusculum career, he has a 76.64 scoring average as he has competed in nine tournaments and accounted for a top-20 finish. He carded a career-low 71 in the second round of the Bearcat Classic.

Williams, a native of Lone Tree, Colorado, returns to the CSC Academic All-District® team for a second straight year. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in May where he finished with magna cum laude distinction. He finished with a 3.67 GPA while majoring in sport management. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. He is a two-time recipient of the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award and is a two-time GCAA All-America Scholar.

Williams was second on the club with his 74.59 stroke average as he recorded three top-20 finishes. He tied for 12th at the King Invitational with a season-low opening round of 67. He placed 14th at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational and 17th at the Bearcat Classic with an even par score of 71-70-75=216.

He finished his TU career with a 75.11 scoring average which ranks the fifth lowest in school history. He finished ninth in program history with his 13 career sub-par rounds. He accounted for 10 top-20 finishes in his 25 career tournaments including four times in the top-10 and twice in the top-five.

Makovec, a sophomore middle blocker from Virginia Beach, Virginia, boasts a 3.58 GPA while majoring in sport management. He is a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List.

He started in all 28 matches for the Pioneers who posted a program-best 15-13 record. He led the team with his .462 hitting percentage which was fourth-highest in the nation. The 2025 All-IVA second team selection also led the team in blocks averaging 0.87 per set (45th in NCAA) while his 0.34 service aces per set average were second on the club and 55th nationally. He totaled 204 kills (1.94 kps), 35 service aces, 57 digs and 90 blocks.

West, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, completed his Bachelor of Science degree last December where he majored in psychology. He posted a 3.67 GPA in his first semester of graduate school working on his Master of Sport Management. He is a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

The five-year libero holds the school record with 608 career digs (1.37 dps). During his 126-match career, he has played in 445 sets while totaling 190 assists.

Harrison, a sophomore from Sherwood Park, Alberta in Canada, has a 3.53 GPA while majoring in sport management. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Dean’s List, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and the Charles Oliver Gray Honors List.

Harrison played in 15 matches with five starts where he led the Pioneers with his 48 ground balls and caused a team-best 19 turnovers. He accounted for five goals and two assists for his seven points.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men’s at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 9.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-2025 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
