GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Tusculum University men’s golf team will tee off the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule when they travel to McCormick, South Carolina for the Savannah Lakes Invitational this Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament, hosted by Lander University, will be held at Monticello Golf Club and feature some of the top NCAA Division II programs in the Southeast Region including: South Atlantic Conference members Anderson, Lenoir-Rhyne and Newberry. The tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.
TU head coach Hunter Chandley, who is entering his fourth season at his alma mater, returns eight lettermen from last year’s club. Seven newcomers have also joined the Tusculum program and will be vying for playing time.
Chandley has two seniors on this year’s team including Ryland Chaney and Lawson Harkey.
Chaney, a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, will be competing in his third TU campaign after transferring from Brevard College. Harkey, a Crouse, North Carolina product, is playing in his fourth TU season where he has qualified for six events including last year where he earned All-Tournament honors at the Alice Lloyd Invitational with his fourth-place finish.
Sophomore Harrison Price finished third on the squad last year with his 75.11 stroke average which was the seventh-lowest ever by a TU rookie. He recorded four top-20 finishes including his runner-up performance at the Alice Lloyd Invitational. The Winchester, England product also finished 12th at the King Invitational where he carded a season-low 68. He also placed 17th at South Atlantic Conference Championship.
Junior Marinus Jeebe (Forstinning, Germany) placed sixth on the team with his 76.86 scoring average as he qualified for six events including the SAC Championship. He has appeared in nine tournaments during his collegiate career and was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team and is a 2025 recipient of the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
Junior Buster O’Callaghan (Leatherhead, England) qualified for three tournaments in his TU debut season. The Keiser University transfer finished with a 77.38 stroke average last season.
Also returning for the Pioneers are junior Dylan Side (Gray, Tenn.) and sophomores Gavin Sells (Greeneville, Tenn.) and Hayden Shrewsbury (Jonesborough, Tenn.).
Three transfers have joined the TU program including junior Fraser Laird, who played the previous two seasons at fellow SAC member Lincoln Memorial. He earned medalist honors at the Walter State Invitational during is rookie campaign with the Railsplitters.
Caleb Bennett and Joe Stevenson will be competing in their first TU campaigns after playing at St. Andrews University.
Bennett, a junior from Pitman, New Jersey, played two seasons at the Laurinburg, North Carolina school. He played in eight events and finished in the top-20 on four occasions. Stevenson, a sophomore from Craigavon, Northern Ireland, played one season at St. Andrews.
Four freshmen round out the TU roster for 2025-26 including Koltt Bassham, George Evans, Matthew Hogan and Ed Linley.
Bassham played his prep career at Eagleville High School where he was the 2025 District Golfer of the Year. He led his team to a 2024 District Championship while finishing third at Districts during his senior season.
Evans, a native of Buckinghamshire, England, attended the Sir William Bolases School. And was a member of the Harleyford Club Team.
Hogan was a four-time All-Conference selection while playing at Science Hill High School in Johnson City. He led the Hilltoppers to their fourth Big East Conference title last fall as he earned individual medalist honors with a five-under par 67.
Linley, a native of Romford, England, attended the Brentwood School in Essex and was a member of the Romford Club Team.
Tusculum will play in four events this fall. Following the Savannah Lakes Invitational, TU will compete at the King Invitational (Sep. 22-23) before hosting the Bob Dibble Memorial at Graysburg Hills Golf Club (Oct. 13-14). Tusculum will round out the fall when they return to South Carolina for the Bearcat Fall Classic (Oct. 27-28), also hosted by Lander.
