FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Tusculum University men’s volleyball team dropped the rematch to Emmanuel on Thursday (Mar. 28).
The Pioneers (6-20) fell to the Lions (9-16) by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-13.
Eli Zdonek finished with a match-high 17 kills on a .556 hitting percentage. Abdallah Roshdy tallied 26 assists, while Arturo Diaz-Dube and Greg Bodus landed the Lions’ service aces. Noah Langelier scooped up nine digs. Diaz-Dube was credited with a match-best five total blocks.
Deklan Wingo (14) and Colby Landry (10) reached double figures in the kill category for Tusculum. Adam Svendsen (4), Morgan Makovec (3), Donovan Nye (2), Joel Dubinsky (1), and Thiago Da Silva (1) rounded out the scoring. Tristan Blake registered 24 assists, while Landry recorded both Pioneer aces. Blake finished with a team-best seven digs, ahead of five by Taylor West, Landry, and Svendsen. Nye was credited with three block assists at the net.
Emmanuel hit .354 as a team with 39 kills and 11 attack errors on 79 total attempts. Tusculum hit .168 with 35 kills, 19 errors, and 95 total attacks. The Lions led the Pioneers in assists (36-33), digs (35-26), and total blocks (8-5). The teams tied with a pair of service aces.
Tusculum returns home for the first time in nearly four weeks to host Thomas More on Friday (Mar. 29). Prior to the 6 p.m. match, Tusculum will honor Colby Landry and Taylor West for Senior Night.
