The Greeneville Flyboys couldn’t get their offense going Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 to the Burlington Sock Puppets, who salvaged a split in the two-game series.
Layne Akers collected two singles, and Jace Patton added a double—Greeneville’s only three hits of the day.
Daniel Eagen took the loss on the mound, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two over three innings of work.
The Flyboys return to Pioneer Park on Tuesday, following a league-wide off day, to begin a two-game series against division leader Kingsport. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
