The West Greene boys golf team picked up a win on Monday at Graysburg Hills in a three-way match with Chuckey-Doak at North Greene.
The Buffaloes shot a 193 as a team with Peyton Shelton leading the way with a 47. JT Harris had a 48, Thomas Cogsdell had a 49, and Keaton Potter 49.
North Greene turned in a 211 as a team. Ethan Dilks and Tyler Britton both shot a 48. Isaac Gaby had a 52 and Colton Cooter 63.
Chuckey-Doak was led by Kaleb Blankenship with a 49, Knox McAmis had a 53, Gavin Murray 55 and Ben Palazzo 55 for the Knights’ team score of 212.
The Chuckey-Doak girls shot a 100 with Harley Thompson leading the way with a 49. Kyleigh Crawford had a 51.
VOLLEYBALL
North Greene 3, Washburn 0
The North Greene volleyball team started the 2025 season the best way they could with a sweep (25-20, 26-24, 25-20) over Washburn at home.
Matti Phillips and Kinlea Graham led the way with a team-high five kills each. Josie Graham and Tralyn Southerland delivered three kills each. Graham led them with two blocks at the net. Southerland led the team with four aces in service and Cadie McDevitt compiled three aces also. The Lady Huskies combined for 14 aces.
North Greene is back in action on Tuesday at home with Cherokee. The action is set to begin at 5 p.m.
West Greene 3, Chuckey-Doak 2
The West Greene volleyball team had to hold off a late charge from Chuckey-Doak on Monday to start the season with a 3-2 win ( 25-19, 25-12, 24-26, 22-25, 15-13).
Journey Lamons led the Lady Buffaloes with 10 kills and three aces. Cassidy Hill had eight kills, and Morgan Moody and Addy Peters each had four kills.
Jacey Taylor had 18 kills for Chuckey-Doak.
Science Hill 3, Greeneville 1
The Greeneville volleyball team fell to Science Hill on Monday 3-1 (22-25, 25-10, 25-8, 25-19).
